North County Bait & Tackle member texts is the shop's text message program for members of our rewards program. This page is the program terms and our privacy policy for member texts.

This page does not collect phone numbers or enroll anyone in member texts. Members join in person at the shop.

Message and data rates may apply. The shop does not charge anything to join or to receive the texts.

Joining, and what you are agreeing to

You join at the shop, by giving your mobile number and agreeing on the signup screen at the counter. Joining the rewards program means you agree to receive its texts from North County Bait & Tackle at the number you gave us: one automated confirmation when you enroll, and the balance or claim-code texts you ask for.

Subscribing to member deals and news is a separate choice on the same screen. It means you consent to receive recurring automated marketing text messages — this month's member deals and shop news — about 1–3 times a month, and you get a sign-up reward for subscribing.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. You can shop and buy anything we sell without ever signing up for texts.

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. Message delivery is not guaranteed, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

HELP and STOP

Reply HELP for help

Reply HELP to any message from us and you will get a reply with the program name and how to reach the shop. You can also call or email us using the contact details below — you do not have to text to get help.

Reply STOP to cancel

Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. You will get one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that we stop sending member texts to your number — no deals or news, and no requested balance or claim-code texts. Nothing else about your membership changes, and you can rejoin later at the shop counter.

Balance and claim-code texts you ask for

Separately from the member deals and news above, you can ask the shop to text you your current rewards points balance — a requested balance text. It is sent only because you asked for it right then, at the shop counter. One request sends one message.

If you claim a deal, we text you a one-time claim code to show at the counter. You ask for it; it isn't counted in the monthly texts.

Because you start each one yourself, requested balance and claim-code texts do not count toward the about 1–3 texts a month described above. That figure covers member deals and news only. Message and data rates may apply to these texts.

Privacy — how we handle your number

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in and consent information are not shared with, or sold to, any third party for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade this information, and we do not pass it to other businesses so they can market to you.

The exceptions are the service providers that make the program work: the messaging platform and the mobile carriers that deliver a text to your phone, and our point-of-sale system, which holds your member record so the shop can find you at the register. Each acts on North County Bait & Tackle's behalf, only for that purpose, and none is permitted to use your number for its own marketing.

We keep a record of your consent — the number you gave us, the exact wording you agreed to, and when — because that record is what proves the shop had your permission before texting you. If you reply STOP, we keep enough information to make sure you are not texted again.

We may also share information where the law requires it, such as in response to a lawful request from a government authority.
